Mathematical modelling and data analysis
Over time and through various projects, I have developed expertise in constructing and analyzing mathematical models for networked systems.
In my work on clock synchronization and deterministic networking, I developed stochastic models using probability theory as well as stochastic and deterministic network calculus. In my work on tree-splitting algorithms, I applied graph theory, probability theory, and combinatorial analysis. Across all of these areas, I collected experimental data and performed rigorous analysis to validate the models.

Measurements
Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in setting up measurement infrastructures and conducting experiments to measure latency, oscillator stability, and overall network performance.
I have experience with instruments such as Calnex Paragon-X and R&S TSMA, as well as oscilloscopes, frequency analyzers, capture cards, and network taps. In many cases, I had to invent custom devices such as OpenAirLink and a latency measurement setup. I also set up an OpenAirInterface testbed for 5G experimentation.

Simulation
I have experience in simulating networked systems at various levels of abstraction, from protocol design to packet-level and wireless network simulations.
I used simulation to evaluate new network protocols at scale. I focused both on the accuracy of protocol behavior and on the efficiency of simulation for large-scale scenarios. I built a custom simulator in Python for tree-splitting algorithms. For clock synchronization, I worked with the INET library within OMNeT++. For wireless network simulation, I used NVIDIA Sionna, MATLAB, and ns-3 at different points to model and analyze the performance of 5G and beyond networks.

SysAdmin
I have been responsible for the administration and maintenance of research infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation of servers, networks, and development environments within the group.
I handled the maintenance and upgrades of 14 simulation and service-delivery servers, backups of critical data, and overall availability. I installed new machines, retired old ones, built redundant networks, and managed isolation and access controls. The simulation servers were managed on Proxmox, while installations and access control were handled through Ansible. I also replaced hard drives and faulty components on switches and servers.

Networking protocols
My experience spans multiple networking protocols, including both wired and wireless systems.
I have worked across the full protocol stack, from the physical layer to the application layer, and with both standard and custom networking protocols. Developing new clock-synchronization protocols and testing them on Tofino switches using P4 has been a key part of my work. I also have experience with wireless protocols such as IEEE 802.15.4 and 5G networks.
